The tagline ‘Doing it better by 2020’ has been selected to indicate the desire of Community Southwest to bring together all sectors within the south west region in an effort to better collaborate on issues that enhance the wellbeing of all in our community for the future. They recognise that whilst we may collaborate well now, to meet the challenges posed by an ageing population, climate change and diminishing volunteer numbers, we will have to collaborate better in 2020. Now is the time to collaborate, innovate and learn.
The conference will contribute to our understanding of:
-
How we move from an obscure concept to a strategic vision for collaborative effort?
-
How we ensure strategic vision is shared by all? (is the vision owned by all members & can we cater effectively for a diversity of perspectives?
-
How we create value or generate benefits from collaboration?
-
And what types of benefits (any unexpected) that can be generated?
-
How we manage the varying resources that can be committed by collaborative partner?
-
How we invigorate (or re-invigorate) commitment to the collaborative alliance?
-
How a stakeholder feels or sees the value of collaboration?
Importantly discussions about the contribution by collaborative efforts and alliances to the productivity (and social wellbeing) of the individual, the organisation and the community will be of interest to all that do or should work in a collaborative manner.
