Profile:

Cooinda Terang is a services provider for intellectually disabled adults in the Corangamite and Moyne Shires, drawing clients from most of the regional towns including Derrinallum, Simpson, Cobden, Timboon, Port Campbell, Bookar, Garvoc, Camperdown and Terang.

Cooinda has about 60 clients who utilise the 3 x 24 hours supported residences, a 4 bed respite facility, approximately 6 outreach units, 2 adult training facilities and other services provided by Cooinda.

Cooinda focuses on not only integrating clients into the community but also on integrating the community into Cooinda with a pottery utilised by various mental health and day care groups, a Men’s Shed and various other facilities used by the community from time to time.

Cooinda provides an open, welcoming environment for clients and families and places a lot of emphasis on participatory, consultative governance structures involving clients, families and staff as well as executive and Board.
