Profile:
Mpower is an accredited, not -for-profit, non-government organisation providing a range of community support services to individuals and families with specific needs in the South West of Victoria. Mpower offers the following services:-
- "Let's Grow" early intervention - supports families of children with a disability aged 0-6 years.
- Helping Children with Autism’ – supporting children up to 6 years of age with diagnosis of autism
- Supporting parents - Information and support to parents/carers of children with disabilities aged 0-18 years.
- Deaf Access Victoria- Improving access for deaf and hard of hearing people in the Barwon - South West Region
- Possum's Nest toy library - Offers a wide range of appropriate toys and resources to enhance learning and play at a minimum cost to families.
- Carer support - For people caring for someone aged 65+ or caring for someone with dementia of any age.
- Community transport - transport to and from appointments and social activities for people unable to access other forms of transport.
- Disability respite - A range of respite programs for families of people with a disability including information, school holiday programs and recreation programs.
- "Sturgeon View" holiday house - Purpose built, fully accessible holiday house accommodating up to 8 people.

Ms Kerry Nelson
Chief Executive Officer Mpower and Chairperson Community Southwest.
Kerry became Chief Executive Officer of Mpower, in 1991. Kerry has overseen and supported large, dynamic growth from 15-50 staff in this time, while managing a diverse team of professionals providing a wide range of services to the south west community. Kerry has a Diploma of Welfare and Post Graduate qualifications in Management and has developed a sound understanding of the economic, social and environmental opportunities and challenges facing the region after having held positions across a diverse range of organisations in the south west over her 26 year career. Kerry is a member of Disability Professionals Victoria, Australian Institute of Management, the, the Regional Disability Advisory Group for Barwon South West and holds positions on the Board of Lyndoch and the PCP South West Executive.
A strong interest in people's needs and providing quality community services to support individuals and families makes Mpower an ideal organisation to lead. Kerry has formal qualifications in Welfare and Post Graduate qualifications in management. Kerry is a member of Disability Professionals Victoria, Australian Institute of Management, the management team of PCP South West and the Regional Disability Advisory Group for Barwon South West.
