Welcome and thanks for participating in this consultation process
Community Southwest (CSW) has received a one-off grant to develop new approaches within south west Victoria which are more supportive of volunteers who experience social exclusion.
Described by its core functions the Supportive Volunteering Pathways Project (SVPP) will support more sustainable volunteer placements by training mentors to support volunteers in their roles, promoting opportunities for organisations to improve how they support vulnerable volunteers, and enhance the way in which agencies collaborate and refer or support volunteers.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been developed to describe the collaboration between the partnering organisations (the parties) to achieve greater social inclusion through volunteering for those who are disadvantaged.>
This MOU reflects each party’s commitment to a relationship in which both have rights and responsibilities that are to be upheld and respected. Each party will use their best endeavors to ensure that they fulfill their commitments as set out in this Memorandum.
Your participation in reviewing the draft version of the MOU will help Community Southwest to shape the project with the essentials for our collaboration. It is through that collaboration, and as we learn from each other, that SVPP will reach its goals.
The MOU is structured as follows:
Principles: The broad description of shared beliefs and understanding.
Objectives: The goals which we hope to achieve
Processes: A description of the rights, responsibilities and roles of each participating agency, and therefore a description of how we will work together.
Please note that this document does not contain all relevant clauses of the MOU as it has been streamlined to consult on the most important elements of our proposed collaboration. Clauses discussing processes for dispute resolution, term, authorisation etc will be drafted for consideration the final document.
